Biodiversity and Storytelling, a whole day experience

A day packed with experiences, senses, nature and culture. Delicious local food and three completely fresh performances that we have developed together with 25 young artists here on the farm:

Voices and narration from soil, plants, forests and mushrooms.

Voices from the sky about weather, bird life, insects and seeds.

Voices from water, from wildlife and the pasture.

And there will be more events…

Simon James Eide is a multi-artist who has received a grant to work on a graphic book about sustainability for young people. He also talks about Extinction Rebellion, Artivism and how non-violent illegal actions are used to change the growing society.

Mari Jerstad has a bachelor’s degree in herbal medicine. In the spring of 2021, she completed an ethnobotanical study through the master’s program “International Community Health” at the University of Oslo. She takes us on a herbal walk and shares her experiences with storytelling and biodiversity.

An whole day experience, from 10:00 – 20:00.

In addition to the participants who have been involved in the entire process, more will come this day:

Guro Skumsnes Moe and Håvard Skaset run Børsen Kulturhus at Tangen. They will be involved in one or more of the performances. Guro Skumsnes Moe is one of the country’s most active and boundary-breaking performers and artists. Håvard Skaset has distinguished himself as a cross-genre guitarist/composer with a broad musical reach with concerts all over the world. Together they have opened Børsen Kulturhus, an arena for the development of professional sound art.

Trond Vidar Vedum is a Norwegian biologist and was senior lecturer at Hedmark University College. He has received the Aschehoug non-fiction prize for his work with textbooks for primary schools. He is also part of the Hedmark Vårmarksgruppen and tells us about wetlands on the farm.

This day will be a rich day, where the public will experience several different art forms. There will be local food served and performances and lectures in many arenas beyond the more formal ones in the barn and Gaupestua
